Get easy wins right away.

Tackling the hardest tasks is an excellent time management hack. But, sometimes you need to get an easy win by completing a smaller, easier task. For example, making your bed as soon as you wake-up. This works because you got something done and it’s out of the way. As a result, your brain goes, “I handled that! I can totally handle this next task too!” Don’t spend all of your time on easy tasks, just when you feel discouraged.

The Internet can be a huge attention suck. Practice surfing the Internet mindfully by taking more breaks, slowing down, and focusing on what you intend to accomplish.

Take more breaks.

Breaks let you step back from your work, recharge, come up with better ideas, slow down, reflect on your work, and ultimately make you a lot more productive. Before you take a break, I recommend writing down where you are with your work or what to do straight after you are back.

Take time out.

Stress makes us fat, look old, kills sex drive, kills vitality and our capacity to stay focused all day long. Unless we take care of stress, everything else is temporary. One of the best strategies I use with my clients is managing stress by creating space to decompress and switching their ‘cognitive function’ off regularly over the day. Schedule 3 slots of 10 minutes over your day and go for a walk. Become aware of your environment, become more aware of how you feel, of your breathing and breath nice deep breaths. Breathing consciously will reduce symptoms and feelings of pressure, stress and anxiety.

Eat better.

What we eat has a huge effect on our energy levels. The worse we eat, the quicker we’ll burn out, and the less energy we’ll have to get stuff done. From my experience, this is a huge area many busy people struggle with, so it’s super important to delegate this out, or prep food upfront for several days.

Eat all your meals at a table.

I would like to mention, a desk is not a table. When we eat while we’re watching TV, working or driving, we eat mindlessly, and as a result, we eat a lot more than we would if we were eating at a table and paying attention what we’re doing.

Smile more often.

Whenever you get a grin on your face, your brain is releasing serotonin, the happy hormone. Smiling is the natural way to force yourself to be happy. Many people even smile for five minutes straight in the morning to get themselves in a great mood for the day. It is a very powerful tool that is utilized less and less as we grow older and need happiness more than ever. Just remember that while happiness leads to smiles, smiles also lead to happiness.

Here are some shortcuts examples to help you with time management:

  • compose prewritten email responses. If they have a question about pricing, then have an automated response sending them to your price page
  • use different prewritten email signatures for your various email accounts
  • learn keyboard shortcuts

I’d also add that you make use of time automation. For example, it can be used to create recurring billing or send payment reminders. HubSpot can automate your marketing, like scheduling emails and social media posts.

Set small daily goals.

Having huge, game changing goals is great. Everyone should have a bigger vision for who they can be and what they can achieve. But staying focused on a 10-year vision is no easy task, especially when trying to get through the tiring day. Whether you are bogged down with content marketing, emailing clients, or writing new content, it can be easy to lose focus on the bigger picture. Instead of focusing on your big, long term goals, start setting small daily goals. By focusing only on what needs to be accomplished in any one given day, you will set yourself up for success. Achieving small daily goals will wire your brain for success and trigger the reward mechanism, releasing dopamine when you accomplish your goal. This will help you stay more focused and increase the odds of you achieving tomorrow’s goal.

Any book that gives a good, positive message about the world or the people in it can help you feel better and be more relaxed.

Go for a walk.

Any exercise or physical activity that gets the heart rate up, the blood flowing and release of endorphins is going to raise our energy level. When we take a brisk walk, especially in the morning, we are quickly activating our body’s systems. By moving your body in the form of a walk, you have taken yourself from lethargy to high energy. Circulation and hormonal balance improve while your feeling of mental sharpness and general refreshment skyrocket. The trick is that by using energy to exercise, we actually become more energetic. Walking also improves sleep and the overall quality of our life.

Avoid “low fat” or “diet” products.

Avoid food products “lite”, “diet”, “low-fat” or “nonfat” in their names. These foods are highly processed products with artificial additives. For example, when they remove fat, they remove all the taste of that food and then they need to replace it with all chemical additives which are not natural for our bodies.

Reduce shopping.

Put down the plastic and step away from the cash register! Retail therapy is only a temporary fix to make you happy. You may experience the joy of instant gratification when purchasing something you want, but, as the saying goes, “you can’t buy happiness.” Often times, shopping will lead to buyer’s guilt or jealousy because you can’t afford a certain product. If you can’t resist shopping, try spending money on experiences, not things.

Interruptions are bound to happen quite often. It’s up to us how we react to them so don’t let talking to your bestie for 20 minutes make you feel you’ve ruined your productivity for the day. You’ve only been derailed temporarily, now it’s time to get back on track.

If your phone is constantly buzzing with new notifications and your computer continually dings with new updates on your social media feed, then how in the world do you expect to stay focused? You need to eliminate all pointless distractions. This means that, while you are working, your phone is on airplane mode, your computer has all notifications disabled, and you clearly inform coworkers that you do not want to be disturbed.

In an age of digital communication and immediate feedback, you may be tempted to have your phone with you at all times. However, constantly checking email, text messages and instant messages reduces your productivity. Check it all at once, three times a day.

Be grateful.

When you’re feeling stressed, try counting your blessings. Write them down in a gratitude journal. There is always something you can be thankful for – sometimes it is as simple as waking up. Think about all the things that are good in your life.  When you focus on gratitude, you’ll also see more of the good in your life. When you think negatively, it’s easier to feel angry and stressed. Positive thinking, on the other hand, helps diffuse your anger and brings you more good things to feel good about!

Drink more water.

Water boosts your energy, fires up your metabolism, helps you think, acts as an appetite suppressant, helps your body flush out toxins, reduces the risk of many diseases, clears up your complexion, and even saves you money! I recommend starting your day by drinking warm water with lemon juice what will assist your digestion and in alkalizing your body, which in simple terms will support a reduction in inflammation.

Avoid food prepared in microwave.

Avoid eating highly processed fast food and meals which you can prepare in a microwave, packed in plastic containers. Also, I don’t recommend heating up your meals in there – it kills all nutrients in food.

Instead, try to prepare food on your own from fresh ingredients. There are plenty healthy and nutritious meals which don’t require special skills and a long time to prepare.

Those who are heavy-set with material desires will have a lot of trouble when their things are taken away from them or lost. Possessions do end up owning you, not the other way around. Become a person of minimal needs and you will be much happier.

Stop multitasking.

Multitasking is wasteful and ineffective. It may sound counterproductive, but you’ll achieve more if you singletask. This is because you’ll give the task at hand your full attention. For example, allocate one hour in the morning to work on a proposal for a client. After that, give yourself a break and work on the next priority.

Get more good fats in your diet.

The human brain is made up of roughly 60% fat. That’s pretty considerable when you think about it! This poses a problem for the people who have been proponents of low fat diets throughout the years. You see, your brain needs lots of good fat to function properly. One of the best ways to quickly improve cognitive function and thereby your focus is to get more fats in your diet. If you are following intermittent fasting then I recommend that you eat a lunch that has at least 30 grams of fat in it. Nuts (macadamia, walnuts, pecans, brazil, almonds), avocados, eggs, grass-fed butter, fish & seafood and coconut oil are all great ways to get healthy fats into your diet and help your brain run more smoothly.

Avoid taking your phone to the gym.

Why do you go to the gym? To exercise (hopefully). Your phone does not belong there. Use gym time (or jog time) as your mental break. A break from calls, emails and messages. A break from the outside world. This is your time so don’t allow your phone to interrupt you. “But I keep all my music on my phone and I need to take it”. No problem. Take it but put it in “airplane mode” so it essentially becomes an mp3 player.

Visualization.

Picture an idyllic and peaceful scene, such as a meadow or a beach, and use all of your senses. Do you smell jasmine in the air? Can you hear the birds singing and feel the light breeze on your skin? Your body can’t tell the difference between a thought and a real event, so bring your peaceful scene to mind the next time you’re feeling anxious. You can visualize the stress flowing out of your body or running off your back like water. You can visualize growing roots, just like an old oak tree, you can feel the stress draining into the earth and being absorbed my mother nature. Try it!

Expose yourself to more natural light.

Natural light helps us sleep better, reduces our stress levels, increases our energy levels, and allows us to focus better. Feeling foggy? Try looking out the window, or even better get outside and soak up the sun for a few minutes for a boost of alertness and energy. Having enough natural light is especially important if you work in the building under artificial light. A naturally lit space will help you be more productive than an artificially lit work environment. Increased natural light during the day helps you sleep better, so that you’re well-rested and on the ball for work the next day.

Drink warm water with Apple Cider Vinegar before meals.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) seems to take food and nutrition to a whole new level. One of the main benefits is that it consists acetic acid what assists weight loss:

– lowers blood sugar levels by improving the ability of the liver and muscles to take up sugar from the blood,

– decreases insulin levels what supports fat burn by reducing the ratio of insulin to glucagon,

– improves metabolism by increasing the enzyme AMPK, which increases fat burning and decreases fat and sugar production in the liver,

You might be surprised to hear this but spending money on other people (also called “prosocial spending”) boosts happiness more than buying things for ourselves. Helping others does not always mean we need to spend money; we can also spend our time, for example via volunteering.

It’s the most fulfilling thing we can do on this planet. It not only feels amazing physically, we also feel like a good person. What’s more, helping people has a ripple effect – if we help someone they will feel more obliged to help someone else, and so on. We grow by giving and helping others and it can change us in ways we never expected. PAY IT FORWARD!

Create your morning routine on daily basis and plan your entire day first thing in that time. Intermittent Fasting.

If you have been following the health & fitness or biohacking industries in recent years then you have inevitably heard about the phenomenon called intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting, or IF, is a fairly simple concept. For 14-16 hours out of the day you fast completely and then consume all of your food in an 8-10hour window. I found the best results to eat in that window 2-3 meals without snacking between starting from breakfast and skipping dinner – many suggest skipping breakfast but this way we mess-up with our circadian rhythm.

Outside of the benefits to your metabolism and fat loss goals, IF actually helps you to have more focus what increases your productivity. If you do this, your focus will shoot through the roof.

Life is not about being perfect, but about getting things done. You cannot achieve absolute perfection. There is always a little more you can do, a little thing you can improve and tweak. Plus, even if you do all of those improvements, who says it is going to be “perfect”? Perfection is subjective and the strive for it can stop your progress dead in its tracks. Do the best you can with the time and resources you got. Get the job done. Let go of the need for perfection.

Listen to music.

Try doing something mentally soothing to keep stress at bay. Music is one of the best ways to relax and de-stress, and it’s popular with people of all ages, income levels, and other factors. Pick the music you like; it’s usually more effective, though, when you choose something quiet. Listen to music that makes you feel rested and calm.  Try several different musical styles – you’ll know when you’re listening to something that works for you. And once you’ve located it, you can listen whenever you need to for a calming break.

Take a nap.

If you find your energy waning, or that it naturally dips at a certain time every day, take a short nap – one of the best ways to feel mentally and physically energized is to give your brain a rest so it can re-charge. The best way to do this is to get 6-8 hours of sleep every night. We both know this isn’t always possible, especially when you’re busy at work. One way to give yourself a mental boost is to take a nap. Avoid napping too long or you may find yourself feeling as tired as you did before sleeping, 10-15 minutes nap is all that it takes to feel more mentally alert. Additionally, napping improves your memory, makes you more attentive and alert, prevents burnout, and boosts your creativity.

Quit drinking empty calories.

Avoid drinking any sweetened liquids, even if they are diet with sweeteners: juices, sparkling sodas like cola, diet cola, zero cola, fanta, sprite etc., sports drinks like Powerade, Gatorade, Vitamin Water etc., flavored yogurts, chocolate milk, hot chocolate, sweetened coffee, and tea. Anything that is liquid and sweet. Instead, drink loads of water (still or sparkling) with fresh lemon/lime juice (you can add few fresh mint leaves) and just black coffee and tea (I recommend green).

Meditation helps us improve focus, clarity, attention span, calmness, and, you guessed it right, your happiness. In this modern world where everyone is so connected to everything else via cell phones, TV and internet, most people rarely enjoy the beauty of silence. The ability to quiet your mind and relax your body is an art and skill that everyone should develop. I recommend tapping into your inner wisdom in the morning for an easier and happier start to your day. Through focusing on positive thoughts, you can train yourself to view your accomplishments, your body and your relationships in a positive light. This improves your confidence and self-worth. Breathe deeply.

After meditation, you will feel extremely clear-headed and well, just plain wonderful. The only way to really understand this sensation is to try it. Start meditating now and you will live a happier life.

Saying ‘NO’ to someone it’s not rude and being assertive has many benefits. Say no to the friend who wants to meet over coffee to gossip. Say no to the co-worker who wants to spread his negativity and cynicism. Say no to the relative who laughs at your dreams and makes you doubt yourself. Say no the social obligations that drain time from your life’s work.

Interestingly, the ability to say no is closely linked to self-confidence. People with low self-confidence and self-esteem often feel nervous about antagonizing others and tend to rate others’ needs more highly than their own.

Start each morning with exercise.

One of the most important things that you can do for your brain and your overall well-being is to start every morning with exercise. You don’t have to go to the gym and spend 3 hours pumping iron like Arnold in his prime either. Simply getting the blood flowing for 20 minutes will sufficiently spark your mind and help you develop stronger focus throughout the day. Some great activities to try are: swimming, yoga or cycling. These exercises are relatively low impact on your body and are a lot more fun than mindlessly running on the “dreadmill” each morning.

Stop putting off that task you’ve been dreading and do it now!

When we procrastinate, we squander away our free time and put off important tasks we should be doing them till it’s too late.  And when it is indeed too late, we panic and wish we got started earlier. Delaying, putting off things, slacking, hiding from work, facing work only when it’s unavoidable, then repeating this loop all over again – it’s a bad habit that eats us away and prevents us from achieving greater results in life. One of the best strategy is to start working on your despised task first to keep momentum going for the rest of the day.

Smile.

Smiling and laughing is one of the best ways to instantly lighten your mood. Smiling activates the release of neuropeptides that work toward fighting off stress. Neuropeptides are tiny molecules that allow neurons to communicate to the whole body when we are happy, sad, angry, depressed, excited. The “feel good” neurotransmitters dopamine, endorphins and serotonin are all released when we smile which helps relieve stress and control heart rate. This not only relaxes your body, but it can lower your heart rate and blood pressure.

A good joke with a friend, a good movie with your partner or just smiling at the sun shine should put you on positive mood.

Explode.

I don’t mean lose your temper or find a way to self-combust. What I do mean is to perform explosive exercises like jumping in place as high as possible or burpees. These exercises help ‘wake up’ your nervous and cardiovascular system and will have you feeling more alert and energized. The key is to not wear yourself out. This is done by doing several sets (3-6) of low reps (1-3) of 1-2 exercises. Rest about 30 seconds between each set.

Perform this type of exercise when you are feeling tired for a quick pick me up at work or before your workout to boost your energy all workout long.

Eat slowly and chew your food properly.

Forget about counting calories and weighing food – pointless tactics which steal our time and drain our energy. The easiest way to naturally eat less is eating slowly and chewing food properly. That helps us with digestion and we need less of food to feel satisfied. Digestion is one of the most energy-consuming processes of the body, so it’s essential that we help our body along by doing our part. It’s good to think about the taste and smell of the food we eat. The slower we eat, the more of an experience we have.

Gratitude is the act of being thankful for simple things in our life. Practicing gratitude has been proven to increase happiness. There’s a study from Journal of Personality and Social Psychology that suggests that a conscious focus on blessings (in other words: practicing gratitude) have emotional and interpersonal benefits. So, be grateful of every little thing in your life, because there are a lot more people that are not as fortunate as you.

Time is the most precious resource you have. You should be spending it (at least the majority of it) in two types of activities: things that you are the absolute best at or things that you enjoy. Everything else should be delegated or outsourced. Don’t enjoy paying your own personal bills? Outsource it. You are good at web design, but not the best? Outsource it to someone better.

Life is too short to be bogged down with doing things that you don’t enjoy. Outsource and delegate as much as you can so you can keep focused on what is most important.

Avoid checking e-mail last thing at night.

Nights are for sleeping. It is hard to fall asleep when you just read an email that is going to make the next day super busy and overwhelming. You’ll start thinking about it. You’ll start planning. You’ll have a hard time falling asleep, wake up tired and you’ll lack energy for the whole day. Count sheep before you fall asleep, not emails.

Avoid bringing electronics into the bedroom.

Bedrooms are for sleeping (and for other things, wink, wink) and your gadgets don’t belong there. The blue light (the one that comes from any screen) is detrimental to your sleep quality. Plus, you increase your chances of being woken up in the middle of the night by a beep, ping or vibration coming from one of your 100s of apps, or from a random telemarketing call unaware of the time zone you are in.

If you don’t sleep enough you are more prone to stress, actually without good sleep your body is already under physical stress.

Eat some protein.

Eating a protein rich meal will give you more energy for several hours. Studies show that eating protein is superior to one that’s high in carbohydrates at increasing attention span, memory, and the time it takes to make a decision.

The reason for this, it seems is that a protein rich meal helps to better stabilize your blood sugar levels and therefore providing our body and brains with a steady source of fuel. High carbohydrate meals on the other hand cause large increases and then rapid decreases in blood glucose and mental energy.

So, instead of having a meal of pasta, rice, or a sandwich on a roll opt for salad with steak or chicken, an omelet, or a seafood and vegetable stir fry. If you’re pressed for time, a protein shake will do the trick too.

Eat when you are hungry, not when you are bored.

For many of us, eating has surprisingly little to do with hunger. Mostly we eat emotionally for entertainment, to comfort or reward ourselves without feeling any hunger. Food is a costly antidepressant.

Try to be aware of “why” you are eating and ask yourself if you are really hungry – every time before you eat and then along the way.

Everyone knows that money can’t buy happiness, but if you’re going to spend money in search of satisfaction, splurge on an experience, not an expensive toy. We are not our possessions, but we are the accumulation of everything we’ve seen, the things we’ve done, and the places we’ve been – our experiences are a bigger part of ourselves than our material goods.

Avoid answering calls from unrecognized phone numbers.

If the call is coming from an actual person (telemarketers are not considered people), or if it is important, they will leave a voice-mail which you can check at your convenience later on and get back to them.

Unless you are expecting a really important call and you have no idea from which number it is going to come from, there is no real need to answer calls from unrecognized numbers.

Get enough sleep.

Nothing will ruin your focus more than consistent sleep deprivation.

Some of the most successful individuals in our modern business world have attributed much of their success to sleeping 8 hours a night.

You need to sleep more if you want to achieve maximum focus. This is true for everyone ranging from jet lagged digital workers to corporate executives.

Try and get 6-7 hours of high quality sleep per night minimum.

Avoid checking e-mail first thing in the morning.

Your email is nothing more than a nice organizing system for other people’s agendas. Treat it as such. Take care of your needs first. Have a morning routine free of email and the distractions it brings. Take care of your Most Meaningful Task (MMT). Only once you have had a productive start of the day, open your email for the first time and see what the world needs from you.

Declutter and organize.

Clutter adds stress to your life and draws our attention away to the task at hand. It can even signal to our brains that our work is never done. That makes sense so you’re constantly searching for the items you need.

Frequently purge the items you no longer want or need. Put everything back where it belongs. And, have some fun by listening to your favorite tunes while decluttering and organizing.

Eat smart fats.

This tip applies specifically to mental energy and focus. If you want to have lots of each you need to give your body the right fats every day. The best types for this benefit are the omega 3 fatty acids from animal sources – EPA and DHA. They way these super fats help you is by increasing levels of certain chemicals in your brain which enable you to focus and deal with stress better.

The best way to get these fats is to eat fatty fish (i.e. mackerel, salmon, sardines) several times a week. Aim to get 2-3 grams of EPA and DHA into your diet every day. This is equal to a large serving of salmon, 4 fish oil supplement capsules, or a tablespoon of liquid fish oil.

Quit snacking, forever!

Snacking destroys timing and circadian clocks that work in unison with Leptin – the master hormone of energy expenditure. Avoiding snacking helps you with stabilizing blood sugar levels and your energy levels are more stable. Not eating between main meals provide a natural fast that will encourage fat metabolism.

If you feel hungry between meals it means you didn’t eat enough proteins at last meal. Next time add some more proteins from whole food sources: fish, meat, eggs. Eating right amount of proteins makes us satiated for longer and there is no need to snack.

– boosts our creativity and positive mood

– broadens thinking and improves the working memory

– can improve self-esteem

Avoid meetings or calls with no clear agenda or end time.

Meetings and calls can be quite time consuming, especially when there is no clear end goal. This is especially true in the corporate world which is jam-packed with useless daily meetings about policies, sales quotas and other “important” topics that everyone should know about it.

Before you agree to attending a meeting or a call of any kind, ask for the purpose of the call, or at least for the agenda. Ask how long it is supposed to take. If you don’t get a clear answer to any of those, simply don’t take the appointment.

Turn off email notifications.

Staying on top of your emails is important and you need to respond to them in a timely manner. However, that doesn’t mean you have to respond immediately. Stopping for an email breaks your focus. Then your concentration is bouncing between thoughts – which makes it harder to jump back-in.

This easiest way to avoid this from happening is to turn-off email notifications – do this with social media too. There are certain notifications you may need on your phone — missed calls or texts, for example. But anything that’s not completely necessary? Turn it off. Little distractions can equal big derailments.

Then, set aside specific times to check your emails. For example, 10am and 4pm.

Practice mindful breathing.

Focusing on your breathing takes your mind off of what’s stressing you out. Sometimes, especially when trying to calm yourself in a stressful moment, it might help to start by taking an exaggerated breath: inhale for six seconds; hold your breath for seven; then exhale for eight. As you do so, you may find that your mind wanders, distracted by thoughts or bodily sensations. That’s OK. Just notice that this is happening and gently bring your attention back to your breath.

Research shows that mindfulness may improve your concentration, reduce stress, and even alter the structure of your brain!

Stop drinking caffeine habitually.

Caffeine begins to lose its effects when you drink it as part of your routine, but it’s very effective when you drink it strategically (like when you need an energy boost or need to focus).

Instead, consume caffeine intelligently:

  • drink water alongside caffeine,
  • stay away from sugary energy drinks,
  • eat very well when you consume caffeine,
  • don’t drink caffeine on an empty stomach,
  • and wait before consuming a second coffee/tea.

Eat mindfully.

When you eat, you likely do something else at the same time, like watching TV, sitting at the computer, reading, or talking to people. The problem is, when you divide your focus between eating and other things, you lose track of how much you eat. Mindful eating essentially links your brain with your stomach, which makes your sense of fullness kick in quicker.

So how exactly can you practice mindful eating? It’s simple. First, do your best to reduce the number of distractions around you that will dilute the attention you can give to what you are eating. Second, pay attention to your food – how it smells, tastes, and feels. This is naturally difficult to do all of the time because you likely do not eat every meal alone, and because it can be hard to eliminate distractions. Practicing eating mindfully a few times a week will make you eat better.

Turn off the TV.

The temptation to turn on the TV for “noise” or to relax can actually be harmful to your health and your happiness. Don’t turn on the TV while you’re doing something pleasurable and relaxing, like cooking or spending time with your family. These activities deserve your focus and will reduce your stress levels if you aren’t multitasking.  So much television programming is made up of negative reports about crime and accidents, violence, or chaos, even having it on in the background can actually boost your stress levels. Try turning on some classical or smooth jazz music to relax your body and mind. Turn off the TV and give yourself some reflective time to read a book or play a game with your family.

The best diet to lose weight, to be healthy and transform your body naturally.

What I know from experience we all have tried some kind of diet for weight loss during our journey towards healthy lifestyle- to lose weight, to gain some muscles or just to have more energy through the day. Did it really work? Of course it depends on each individual, but one thing I know most of the people come back to old eating habits because most of the unhealthy food is addictive. One question I would like to ask, and I have already done this to myself many times- do we really have to follow some kind of diet to be that healthy person? As everybody knows, there are lots of diets and every year are coming new ones, but, are we willing to be on a constant diet for our entire life? I am not, are you?

Let’s think about our ancestors or even people who lived 200-300 years ago (from evolutionary perspective 200- 300 years is nothing if we want to compare to whole evolution process of human species). Did these people know about what is calorie, carbohydrate, protein or fat molecule? What is the macronutrient composition of simple food, for example piece of apple, or piece of fresh meat? Did they ever realize that excess of sugar is bad for them? Did they have metabolic syndrome caused by bad eating habits? I am really sure they did not have a clue about these things and they were healthier than we are now, did not have eating disorders and all the diseases we have nowadays, did not think about if this food is bad or good for them, if they can mix up sugar with fat or the other way round. Was there any special knowledge about nutrition they knew that time we do not know today? I do not think so. They just eat real and simple food, they did not complicate their diets, did not eat advertised on TV highly processed “food – mimicking products” packed in colorful and plastic wraps with claims, for example: it’s good for your bones, skin, shape etc. What is the most important fact they grew their own food and prepared it on their own, without adding all toxic chemicals which nowadays are added during food production process to extend shelf life of all food products. These people did not have to know about calories and count them. There was no stress connected with it as well. They eat whenever their bodies told them to eat, not because is breakfast, lunch or dinner time. That was mostly plant food diet rich in minerals and vitamins. Meat they ate was from animals raised ecologically without antibiotics and hormones.

In a nutshell, if we want to be healthy or achieve our desired bodies we should really be careful what we eat and what is the quality of food we consume on daily basis. It’s good to have knowledge about nutrition and what kind of food to eat and avoid, this is of course advantage for us, but what I would recommend the most is to stick to real and simple food which our ancestors or grandparents ate. And let’s remember one important thing: all these diets and new trends are there to help us, not to dominate our lifestyle and give us additional stress which we have enough already. The best diet is the simplest diet.
